Introductions: Artists’ Self Portraits

October 12 – January 6, 2007

Thirty-six national and international artists explore the idea of self. Via paint, ceramics and fiber, artists tell their own stories.

How we view ourselves depends on many factors. Numerous artists from around the United States were asked to submit a self portrait. The submissions became as varied as the people who created them.

After the close of Introductions: Artists’ Self Portraits, the exhibition will travel the state as part of the Museum’s
Rural Arts Initiative.
