The Expatriate. Tony Mendoza, currently teaching at Ohio State, works in still photography, video, film, and is currently working on a novel. The museum exhibited photographs from his book, Cuba: Going Back, and a video of the same name, which is an account of his first trip back to his native Cuba after thirty-six years of exile. Also in the exhibition were several photos from Stories, his photography book which combines photographs with short autobiographical stories, plus a seven minute video about his father.
Tony Mendoza was trained as an engineer (Yale University) and as an architect (Harvard Graduate School of Design) before he turned full time to photography in 1973.
