The live auction will begin with a celebratory toast, compliments of Far North Spirits.
Now in it’s 29th year, the Autumn Art Auction is the region’s premier live art auction. Fifty works of art by artists from across the region and the globe are auctioned off by professional auctioneer, David Gorder. The Auction remains one of the largest fundraisers for programs such as Summer Art Camp, Family Day, exhibitions, concerts, and much more. All proceeds are split between the artists and the Museum unless the artist chooses to donate the entire sale to the Museum.

Online and Absentee Bidding

Can’t attend? You don’t have to miss out.
If you are not able to participate in person the Museum offers both absentee bidding (a volunteer will be assigned as your proxy bidder during the live auction. Join them on the phone if you choose) or real-time, online bidding, providing by David and Annie Gorder of AcrePro.

Social at 6:30 pm
Free parking is available in the lots surrounding the Museum. When you arrive, coat check is provided and you can check in simply by giving your name to the attendant at the top of the stairs. You will receive a bidder paddle, one free drink token, and an Auction catalog featuring each artwork to be auctioned during the evening. Food for area restaurants (Ely’s Ivy, Museum Café, GF Country Club, Rhombus Guys, and The Olive Ann Events & Catering) are provided in the galleries and a cash bar with wine, beer, and non-alcoholic options.

Live auction at 8:00 pm
Guests will be asked to direct their attention to the stage, and the Live Auction will begin. Each work will be removed from the gallery wall and brought onto the stage to be auctioned live by professional auctioneer, David Gorder of Acre Pros. Online bidding is also available for those not in attendance. The Auction is streamed live through the platform. The food and beverages will be provided throughout. The Auction will conclude at approximately 10 pm. Winning bidders can pick up their new artwork that evening after getting their receipt at the registration desk.

How to Purchase: Contact the Museum directly or buy your tickets at the event. Tickets are $25 each or $40 for two. Chances to win one or both works of art. Need not be present to win. Drawing held at the conclusion of the Live Auction.

Auction Events and Dates

October 8 – 24 | Auction Exhibition
The work in the Auction will be on display in the galleries of the North Dakota Museum of Art during normal operating hours.

Tuesday, October 13, 8 – 9:30 am | Member Morning
Current Museum Members are invited to join us for some coffee, light treats, and a sneak preview of the Autumn Art Auction work. Guest artists will be present to speak about their work. To view your membership status, renew, or join, click here.

Tuesday, October 20, 5 – 6:30 pm | Auction Preview Reception
Wine and light hors d’oeuvres will be served. Join us for a guided tour of the work up for Auction by Museum Curator, Anna Arnar. This is a casual event where you can ask questions and get a closer look at the artwork without the crowds. This is a free event. Parking is free and everyone is welcome.

Volunteer

Help make this evening a success by volunteering! The Autumn Art Auction is one of the Museum’s major fundraisers, supporting programs like Summer Art Camp, Family Days and more.

Volunteer roles: Art movers, coat check, gift shop attendant, food table attendant, art wrapper, and clean-up crew.

Ticket includes food by area restaurants and one free drink.

Beer, wine, and beverage cash bar also available, provided by the Museum Café.
