Fawzia Khan: Ubuntu

May 21 – July 5, 2026

This exhibition is the eleventh exhibition in Museum’s Art Makers Series. Khan reflects on the current political climate and the polarization of the populace. Through textiles, audio, sculptural works and installations, Khan seeks to remind viewers of our common bonds and the need to recognize ourselves in each other, upholding the contributions of all to a functioning society.

Art Makers: 10 Years

May 21 – July 5, 2026

This exhibition celebrates the legacy of the Art Makers Series, showcasing work by the first ten recipients of the award. The Series was designed to spotlight regional artists, or those with ties to the region.

Meadowlark Buried Her Father

March 5 – May 31, 2026

As a natural storyteller, the exquisite batik works of Vernal Bogren Swift are on display as a complement to the Fables, Myths, and The Stories We Share exhibition on the main floor. The thirteen batiks that form the narrative Meadowlark Buried Her Father are inspired by the history of bone fossils in the prairie regions of North Dakota, Minnesota, and Manitoba.

Barton Lidice Benes lived in a magical apartment in New York City. This temporary installation suggests the drama and mystery embedded in Barton’s private wonderland. 

Laurel Reuter Director’s Fund

A fund dedicated to carrying out Laurel Reuter’s vision and dedication to contemporary art on the Plains, Native American initiatives, commissions of art of our own time and place, publications, and the continued communication between Museum audience and national and international artists.
